MNGFOA Committees


The MNGFOA is managed and lead by many talented individual members who volunteer their time and personal efforts to serve on one of the organizations many committees to enhance the benefits of the organization to its members. Below is a list of the commitees and the functions they perform. If you would like to see a list of the current members that make up any particular Committee, just click on the "Current Members" link. If you are interested in serving on any of the Standing or Special Committees, please contact the respective Committee Chair.

Executive Committee

(Current Members)

The Executive Committee is made up of the officers of the organization that are elected to a one year term and include the President, President-Elect, Secretary, and Treasurer. Also a part of the Executive Committee are the Past President, the State Representative, and two At-Large members. The Executive Committee is responsible for conducting the business of the Association. Follow this link to learn more about the different executive committee positions and their duties.

Conference Committee

(Current Members)

The MNGFOA sponsors a conference that is held annually. The Annual Conference Committee bears the primary responsibility of selecting topics and speakers for the conference. The Committee is also actively involved in all other aspects of the conference coordination, planning, and implementation.

Education Committee

(Current Members)

The Education Committee is responsible for addressing the training issues and concerns for the membership. This includes coordinating all aspects of each training event (excluding the annual conference) including scheduling the trainings, making site arrangements, obtaining trainers/instructors, processing registrations, and acting as moderator at each session.

Program Committee

(Current Members)

The Program Committee is responsible for arranging speakers for the monthly meetings. The variety of topics presented throughout the year include technical subjects, professional development, and current events. The Program Committee coordinates with the Conference Committee those topics to be presented.

Selection Committee

(Current Members)

The Selection Committee was established to screen candidates for the position of Treasurer. Once the candidates have been reviewed, the Committee will select one to fill the Treasurer’s position for the following year.

Social Committee

(Current Members)

The Social Committee plans and organizes social activities for the membership. Such activities have included the annual golf outing and group trips to sporting events.

Technology Committee

(Current Members)

The Technology Committee was established as a standing committee in 2006. Its purpose is to ensure that the MNGFOA utilizes the world wide web efficiently and effectively to educate and communicate with the membership by maintaining the organization's website, and exploring and utilizing relevant web based technologies.

Scholarship Committee

(Current Members)

The Scholarship Committee is a special committee that selects the candidates, and coordinates the award of the Lori A. Webster AGFI Scholarship, and the John B. Lilja Undergraduate Scholarship.
